Limitation of Augmented Reality (AR)

Augmented Reality (AR) has been an exciting and fascinating tech to discuss in the last few months and years maybe.

Some of Augmented Reality’s limitations cover and include rendering digital data into meaningful graphics and also scaling it to be suitable with the perspective of the visual field. In smartphones, AR must work with limited storage, small processing power and small amount of memory.

AR has certainly come a long way now, right from where it was first conceived. Along with AR comes the privacy concerns since the latest Augmented Reality technology revolves around the image-recognition software. And very soon enough, the facility will grant us to tip our devices at people - and instantly, we will be able to see their personal profile or information from their Facebook, Twitter, Amazon, Instagram, LinkedIn, or any other social media profile.

Even with the existence of these social media platforms and profiles, most of these people are willingly displaying their private profiles for the world to track them. But the situation will be totally diverse where you have unknowingly met someone, and you would instantly have so much information about that person and the background life right in front of you.

In spite of having all these limitations and issues, you can’t stop speculating that the future of AR holds for us. You will be able to understand and watch things about the town that you have lived in through years by easily directing your AR phone at any nearby shop or a building.

This technology - Augmented Reality - can really and greatly help the paleontologists to assemble a complete dinosaur skeleton. On the other hand, doctors could simply veneer a digital photo of a patient’s X-rays onto a mannequin with an extra touch of reality.

Certainly the AR technology has come a long way from its roots from AR’s cousin - Virtual Reality. Their differences and similarities are presented in here

.

Augmented Reality has evolved from a head-mounted device to a mobile phones. Its current implementation on the smartphone has shaped AR into what it is today. Along its development road, AR has met some challenges because this technology is dependent on the advancement of the computer technology and the digital network as well. Where it will take off in the future is yet to be defined, but AR must bring only good things to our mankind. It shouldn’t be abused for bad purposes and evil people. We must be very careful if this great technology could fall into a wrong hands. We shouldn’t allow that, so that we can use AR properly and to use the advances in the tech zone to actually simplify our lives.
